About the Position: The client is currently looking for an On Street Services Supervisor to lead a group of OSS Technicians as part of the Winnipeg Branch. This position is responsible for communication between office and field activities regarding ongoing projects. The successful candidate will plan and allocate resources to effectively staff and complete work to meet departmental productivity and quality goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Mobilize resources ensuring timely execution of scheduled events, including traffic control, installation, and events.
  • Ensure field crew has appropriate training and maintain applicable certificates.
  • Maintain a safety-first environment and ensure all employees follow company policy.
  • Ensure trucks and equipment are in good working order.
  • Follow up with field crews for equipment documentation and time sheets, complete and submit daily.
  • Liaise with Manager and Resource Coordinator to facilitate seamless communication between office and field work.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, address issues promptly, and create opportunities to expand traffic control services within the industry.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, performance management, policy adherence, and training to maintain a cohesive team.
  • Make sound business decisions and report on department performance to management.
  • Evaluate work orders for completeness before invoicing.
  • Ensure LEAN and 6S (Six Sigma) are executed by your team daily.
  • Continuously monitor the traffic control schedule, stay informed of daily activities, and delegate assignments as required.
  • Review and inspect work zone temporary traffic control setups for compliance with drawings, plans, and regulatory specifications.
  • Correct any work zone deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Monitor inventory delivered and returned to prevent equipment loss or misplacement on site.


Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 5 Non-GDL Driver’s License or better and a clean 3-Year Driver’s Abstract is required.
  • Safety background/knowledge is essential. NCSO courses are preferred.
  • Knowledge of provincial traffic regulations is preferred.
  • As this is a safety-sensitive role, all candidates must undergo and pass a pre-employment Drug, Alcohol, and Fit Test. Note: All safety-sensitive positions have a zero-tolerance policy for marijuana, medical or recreational.
  • Approximately 5 years of progressive experience in the Traffic/Transportation industry is desired; preference will be given to candidates with at least 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
  • Previous experience in a LEAN/6S environment is a bonus!
